Sometimes you do something, and you get screwed. Sometimes it's the things you don't do, and you get screwed. -Chuck Palahniuk-

I went home early from the office 2 days ago. I had my PMS, was bored and felt dead flat. I ended my day wept on my bed till my nose hurt. I was caught in a “SHOULD” trap.

My office SHOULD be less political
My clients SHOULD be reasonable
My colleague SHOULD be more corperative
My apartment SHOULD be closer to downtown
My boyfriend SHOULD be more understanding
The shuttle bus driver SHOULD smile more
Ya da ya da ya da…

The thing is: NOBODY HOLD ANY RESPONSIBILITY ABOUT MY HAPPINESS! I am a freaking 28 years old. I DON’T NEED people to change their behavior to suit me. Being a grown up means learning how to deal with different things and keep your cool when reality is not what you imagined it to be.

Sometimes, there are things you'd better keep to yourself, because when you talk it out, you’ll get too attached to it. AND the more I concentrate on the unsatisfying things, the more things get out of alignment from my wish.

I might not be satisfied with things but there’s a distinct difference between happy and satisfied, I supposed. When things don't satisfy me, I can tell: “I’m not satisfy but the thing is, I already decided to be happy”. This way, UNSATISFACTION and HAPPINESS can coexist. Because unsatisfying things are what propelling me to improvements.

It is not easy to shut the mind or to stop complaining but I choose to be happy. And guess what? When I relax the bounds of my expectations, the world becomes a lot easier to sort out. So, I guess it's better to be happy than sappy.
